Ramblers Return Home To Host No. 23/25 Green Bay

Loyola seeks third win over a ranked opponent in program history

CHICAGO (December 8, 2017) – With a season-long five-game road trip now complete, Loyola University Chicago returns to the friendly confines of Gentile Arena on Sunday afternoon to take on No. 23/25 Green Bay.  Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. in Rogers Park.    
 
Series Stuff
  • Loyola and Green Bay are set to meet for the 51st time on Sunday afternoon in Rogers Park.
  • The Phoenix hold a dominant 45-5 edge in the all-time series, having prevailed in 45 of the last 46 encounters.
  • Loyola's lone win during the aforementioned stretch came back on Jan. 21, 2010 as it dealt then No. 18/14 Green Bay a stunning 65-63 defeat to claim the program's first victory over a ranked opponent. Maggie McCloskey and Keisha Collins scored 15 points apiece to lead the Ramblers in the win.
 
Phoenix Rising  
  • Green Bay, fresh off of a 75-64 road win over Dayton on Wednesday, finds itself with a 7-1 record.
  • The Phoenix, who were tabbed as the Horizon League's preseason favorite, appear in both the Associated Press (#23) and USA Today Coaches Poll (#25).
  • Head coach Kevin Borseth's team is led on the offensive end of the floor by the pairing of Jessica Lindstrom (15.6 ppg) and Allie LeClaire (11.6 ppg).  Green Bay enters the week as the top defensive team in the nation, allowing a Division I-low 47.8 points.

  • Loyola will take just over a week off for final exams before it visits historic Hinkle Fieldhouse to take on Butler on Dec. 18.
  • The Ramblers will wrap up non-conference play four days later (Dec. 22) when they host city rival UIC.
