CHICAGO (July 3, 2017) – Jeff Jendryk (Wheaton, Ill./St. Francis), a senior on the Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball squad, and his teammates on the U.S. Men's Volleyball National Team, will battle France on July 4 in a FIVB World League Final 6 match in Curitiba, Brazil. First serve is scheduled for 3:40 p.m. Central time versus France on July 4.
The U.S. is one of six teams to advance to the Final Round of FIVB World League play, joining Brazil, Canada, Russia, France and Serbia. Jendryk and his U.S. mates are slotted in Pool K1 along with France and Serbia and will face Serbia on July 5.
Jendryk's role has grown as FIVB World League play has progressed this summer and he is now a regular in the lineup. He has accumulated 46 kills, 10 blocks and a pair of service aces thus far in FIVB World League play.
A three-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America selection, Jendryk helped Loyola to the 2015 NCAA championship, earning Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament recognition. That season he was also tabbed AVCA Newcomer of the Year.
