CHICAGO (January 10, 2018) – Looking to build off of a victory over Illinois State this past Sunday, Loyola University Chicago will make the short trip to Valparaiso, Ind. on Friday evening to take on Valley newcomer Valparaiso at 7 p.m. from inside the Athletics-Recreation Center.  Friday's clash with the Crusaders is the first of a three-game Valley road trip for the Maroon & Gold.

Beginning The Crusade
  • Valparaiso, which is in its first season as a member of the Missouri Valley Conference, enters the weekend sitting at 8-7 overall on the year with a mark of 1-3 in MVC play.
  • Like the Ramblers, the Crusaders split a pair of games last weekend, defeating Illinois State, 56-50, before falling to Bradley, 88-69.
  • Head coach Tracey Dorow's team is spearheaded by Dani Franklin, a 2016-17 Second Team All-Horizon League honoree. Franklin currently leads the Valley in scoring, averaging 16.8 points per game, to go along with a team-best 5.1 rebounds per game.
