CHICAGO (January 18, 2018) – Loyola University Chicago opens a stretch that sees it play seven of its final 11 regular-season games inside the friendly confines of Gentile Arena this weekend when it hosts a pair of teams from the state of Indiana.  The Ramblers will take on Indiana State on Friday evening at 7 p.m., before welcoming Evansville to Rogers Park for an 11:30 a.m. tip-off on Sunday.

Can't See The Forest For The Trees
  • Indiana State enters the weekend at 5-13 overall and 3-4 in Missouri Valley Conference play. The Sycamores are 3-2 since the appointment of interim head coach Josh Keister on January 2.
  • Indiana State picked up a pair of wins last weekend at the Hulman Center, downing Bradley, 65-50, and Illinois State, 52-49.
  • The pairing of Wendi Bibbins and Ashley Taia paces the attack for the Sycamores. Bibbins is averaging just shy of a double-double as she leads the team in both scoring (11.5 points per game) and rebounding (9.0 rpg), while Taia, an Honorable Mention All-MVC selection a year ago, has added 10.0 ppg in 11 appearances.

Playing Cards
  • Evansville enters the weekend mired in a nine-game skid that has seen the Purple Aces' overall record slip to 3-15 and 0-7 in league action.
  • Evansville dropped home contests to both Illinois State, 67-43, and Bradley, 117-59, last weekend at the Meeks Family Fieldhouse.
  • Graduate transfer Hannah Noe currently ranks fifth on the MVC scoring chart, averaging a team-best 15.2 points per game.  Kerri Gasper, who is the only member of the Evansville roster to start in all 18 games this season, leads the Purple Aces in rebounding, collecting just over five caroms per game.

  • Loyola heads to Central Illinois next weekend to visit Illinois State (February 2) and Bradley (February 4).
