CHICAGO (October 15, 2018) - The Loyola men's soccer team takes on Moody Bible Institute on Tuesday (Oct. 16) at 7 p.m. at Loyola Soccer Park. The head-to-head tilt is a makeup game for both teams, made available on Loyola's end due to the Loyola Marymount game on Aug. 31 getting canceled due to weather. Tuesday will be the first time the two schools face faced off in a regular season match. Fans who wish to attend the match will be admitted free of charge.
Loyola is currently on a four-match unbeaten streak, and have won or tied seven of its last eight matches. Loyola jumped into first place with a win over No. 25 Missouri State (Oct. 13) by a score of 1-0, with
Chase Wright notching the game-winning tally. The Maroon and Gold also mixed in a non-conference win vs. Xavier four days earlier, a match also won 1-0.
Vasco Cardoso found the back of the net against the Musketeers for his second game-winning goal of the season. Over the course of the two shutouts,
Josh Lagudah increased his scoreless streak in goal to 312:11.
Scouting Moody Bible
The Moody Bible Archers are coming off a 2-1, double-overtime victory their last time out. The squad has enjoyed goals from six different players this season, led by Dani Martinez's team-leading three points (1g, 1a). The Archers have been getting a lot of scoring opportunities recently, averaging 17.6 shots per game over their last three outings. Junior goalkeeper Brooks Montgomery has seen the bulk of the action in goal, and is coming off a seven save performance last time out - tied for his second highest total on the year.
