CHICAGO – Loyola University Chicago head men's soccer coach Kevin Robson announced the addition of goalkeeper Max Ionita to the Ramblers' 2026 roster.

A local product, Ionita joins Loyola after beginning his collegiate career at Grand Canyon University. The Chicago native developed with Sockers FC Chicago, one of the premier youth soccer organizations in the Midwest, and starred at James B. Conant High School where he won a Golden Glove award. 

Standing 6-foot-3, the junior brings size, athleticism, and depth to Loyola's goalkeeping unit as he continues his collegiate career in his home state.

Ionita plans to study Business and Kinesiology at Loyola.
