CHICAGO (November 7, 2018) -
With just two weeks left in the regular season, Loyola is making a final push for a berth in the Missouri Valley Conference Championship, which will be held in Springfield, Mo., Thanksgiving weekend. The top six teams qualify for the tournament and heading into this weekend, the Ramblers own a two-game lead over Drake for the sixth and final spot and are just two games out of fourth place.Loyola is looking to halt a six-match losing skid to Illinois State and is seeking its first win against its in-state rival since a 3-0 sweep on October 9, 2015. Since joining The Valley, Loyola is 8-3 against Bradley and has is undefeated in five matches at home. In fact, the Ramblers have not fallen to the Braves in Chicago since October 8, 2000, winning six straight in the Windy City.

Loyola, which has won four of its last six contests, is looking to rebound from a heartbreaking five-set loss to Valparaiso last Friday.

Scouting Illinois State

Illinois State enters this weekend's action as one of the hottest teams in the nation, riding a 10-match winning streak and winners of 14 of the last 15 outings, including a five-set decision over No. 25 UNI last Saturday. The Redbirds have captured five of their last six matches on the road, including each of the last three and have prevailed in each of their last two trips to Gentile Arena,

A balanced attack that features four players with 200 or more kills is keyed by middle blocker Ali Line, who hits .334 with 2.57 kills and 0.87 blocks per set.

Scouting Bradley

Since sprinting out to a 14-2 start to the season, Bradley has cooled off and is 6-5 in its last 11 outings, but is coming off a 3-1 win against Drake last weekend. The road has not been kind to the Braves, who are 3-6 in true road matches this season and have dropped four of the last five.

Senior outside Erica Haslag is having an All-MVC caliber season, averaging 4.09 kills per set.

Senior Send-Off

Prior to Saturday's match against Bradley, Loyola will recognize seniors Morgan Gresham, Haley Hoffman, Gabi Maciagowski and Alex Nunez for their contributions to the program.
