CHICAGO (February 8, 2018) - Loyola University Chicago Arrupe College student Mario Bermejo was honored recently at the Ramblers' men's basketball game versus Southern Illinois as part of the PNC Student Achievers program. The PNC Student Achievers program, which was introduced in 2017, is designed to acknowledge deserving Loyola students who display well-rounded achievement and leadership in the classroom, in the community and in competition.
Four students will be selected annually and recognized during a high-profile Loyola athletics event as part of the partnership between PNC Bank and Loyola University Chicago.
Bermejo is set to graduate from Arrupe College in August and continue his dream of becoming an engineer. A natural leader, who served as the captain of both his soccer and volleyball teams in high school, Bermejo has served the students of Arrupe College as a member of the Dreamers and Allies Student Organization executive board and as a leader on the Arrupe College Freshman Retreat.
The Quinlan School of Business Student Achiever will be recognized at the men's volleyball match versus Ohio State on February 24.
