CHICAGO (June 12, 2018) – Six incoming freshmen on the Loyola University Chicago men's volleyball team have been named to the 2018 VolleyballMag.com Boys Fab 50. The list, which ranks the top 50 senior-age boys players in the nation, is voted on by a panel of NCAA men's Division I-II coaches.
Joe D'Attomo (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier),
Luke Denton (Mesa, Ariz./Desert Ridge),
Mike Herlihy (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East),
Andrew Lyons (Norfolk, Va./Maury),
Ian Piet (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East) and
Cole Schlothauer (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) joined 44 other top players in the nation on the VolleyballMag.com Fab 50 list.
With six Fab 50 recruits, Loyola leads the way among NCAA Division I-II teams, along with UC Irvine.
Loyola finished the 2018 season with a 23-7 overall record and was ranked No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II Poll. The Ramblers claimed a share of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association regular-season crown for the first time since 2014 and will welcome back a pair of AVCA Honorable Mention All-America selections in 2019 in outside hitter
