Blake Schilb Signs Contract With Chalons-Reims

Former Loyola guard inks two-year deal to play in France

CHICAGO (August 10, 2018) – Blake Schilb, who starred at Loyola University Chicago from 2003-07, has signed a two-year contract with Chalons-Reims in France, continuing his long-running career in Europe. Schilb previously played for Elan Chalon early in his professional career, which has also featured stops in Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey and Serbia.

Last season, Schilb played for Real Betis in Spain and averaged 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game, connecting on 50 percent of his field goal attempts and 36.1 percent of his three-point tries. This is the 6-foot-7 guard's third tour of duty in France, having previously competed for Elan Chalon and Paris-Levallois. During the 2011-12 season, the Rantoul, Illinois native was tabbed Pro A French League Foreign Player Most Valuable Player and helped Elan Chalon to the French League championship, earning Finals MVP recognition.

One of the most versatile players ever to wear a Loyola uniform, Schilb is the only individual in program history to accumulate over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 400 assists and was a three-time First Team All-Horizon League selection in his career. As a junior, he earned Associated Press Honorable Mention All-America accolades after contributing 19.2 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.9 apg and 1.3 spg in 2005-06.
