CHICAGO (December 14, 2020) -Â Fresh off a 77-66 victory at city rival UIC on Sunday, Loyola continues a busy week by playing the first of consecutive games versus nationally ranked teams when it visits No. 13 Wisconsin Tuesday evening. The Ramblers have won four of their last seven contests versus Top 25 opponents dating back to the 2017-18 season.
Under head coach Porter Moser, Loyola has started 3-0 on two previous occasions - in 2016-17 (3-0) and 2017-18 (7-0).Â
After shooting 36.7 percent (185-for-504) from three-point range a year ago, Loyola has improved its accuracy to 41.3 percent (26-for-63) through three games in 2020-21. Last season, it took until game six for the Ramblers to reach 26 threes on the year.
Since the outset of the 2019-20 campaign, the Ramblers have been a tough out in the month of December, winning eight of nine games in the final month of the year.
Loyola – Wisconsin – The Series
Loyola and Wisconsin are meeting for the 18th time and the first since November 1998, when the teams matched up in Madison to open the 1998-99 campaign. Although the Badgers hold a 10-7 edge in the all-time series, the Ramblers have captured three of the last five meetings between the teams, including a 68-66 victory in Chicago on December 1, 1992.
Loyola is 3-8 against the Badgers in Madison and hasn't won there since escaping UW Fieldhouse with a 78-75 victory on December 12, 1987.
The Ramblers are 37-86 (.301) all-time against current members of the Big Ten Conference and are seeking their first win against a Big Ten foe since an 80-65 decision over Purdue on December 11, 2005 at Gentile Arena. Loyola has dropped its last nine contests versus Big Ten opponents.
Scouting Wisconsin
Wisconsin has won four of its first five outings of 2020-21 and is coming off a 73-62 victory over Rhode Island last Wednesday. The Badgers' lone setback came on a buzzer beater at Marquette (67-65) on December 4.

Redshirt senior forward Micah Potter, who is engaged to Loyola women's volleyball senior Elle Van Grinsven, leads a balanced Wisconsin offense with 12.8 points per game, while adding 6.6 rebounds per outing.
