CHICAGO (December 30, 2020) – Loyola University Chicago senior guard Bre Hampton-Bey (Toledo, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy/UMass) has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.
 
Making only her second appearance as a Rambler, Hampton-Bey provided the Maroon & Gold a lift off the bench in Loyola's 73-64 setback to Mid-American Conference (MAC) preseason favorite Central Michigan back on December 21 in Rogers Park. 
 
In 23 minutes of action, the 5-foot-6 guard added 12 points (3-6 FGs, 6-6 FTs) against the Chippewas, finishing as one of three Ramblers to score in double figures.  Hampton-Bey also came down with five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists.
 
Loyola opens MVC play this weekend when it welcomes Indiana State to Gentile Arena, January 1-2.
