Anneka Murrin wrapped up a storied cross country career this morning at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Tallahassee, Fla.
Â
Making her second consecutive appearance at the national meet, Murrin was forced to step off after the 3k split, which she crossed at 10:08.2. Â North Carolina State took home the national title with 84 points, while BYU's Whittni Orton ran 19:25.4 to claim individual medalist honors.
Â
Today's effort in The Sunshine State closes out a decorated cross country career for Murrin. The first two-time qualifier for the national meet in Rambler annals, Murrin, out of Yarmouth, Maine, closes her career as the only student-athlete in Missouri Valley Conference history to win three straight individual league titles. She ran a sparkling 20:35.3 at the league meet on October 29, leading the Maroon & Gold to a third consecutive Valley team crown.
Â
Murrin will now turn her attention towards the 2021-22 track & field campaign.
