A Message From Loyola AD Steve Watson

Dear Rambler Fans,

What a start to the 2021-22 academic it has been. It truly is a great time to be a Rambler! As we get ready to begin a new calendar year, we couldn't be more excited about both our present and our future.

Recently, we completed arguably the most successful fall in Loyola Athletics history, having celebrated three Missouri Valley Conference team championships. Women's soccer continued its dominance and secured its fourth straight league title and NCAA Tournament berth, while women's cross country won the Valley championship for a third straight season and women's volleyball recorded its first regular season league crown since 2002.

On top of that, men's soccer finished second in the MVC regular season race and senior Anneka Murrin cemented her place as one of the top runners in Valley history, by becoming the first female to capture the individual cross country title in three consecutive seasons, while also qualifying for the NCAA Championships for the second straight season.

As many of you know, last month, we announced that effective July 1, 2022, we will be joining the Atlantic 10 Conference. The Valley has been a wonderful home for us for the last nine years, but as the college athletics landscape continues to shift, we are confident this move will best position Loyola for athletic and academic excellence in the future. At the same time, the Atlantic 10 will provide Loyola with outstanding exposure in major media markets and allow us to renew some old rivalries with schools like Dayton and Saint Louis, to name a few.

For as incredible as these accomplishments have been, equally gratifying to us has been being able to welcome you all back to campus to cheer our Ramblers to victory!  After a full season without fans in the stands, the support our student-athletes and coaches have received this year from our fans and students has been overwhelming.

We look forward to seeing you in Gentile Arena this winter to support our men's and women's basketball and men's volleyball programs in their quest for conference championships.

Go Ramblers!
