CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (February 28, 2021) – The Loyola University Chicago track and field teams concluded competition at the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference Indoor Championships today with a trio of solid performances at the UNI Dome. Loyola's men captured seventh place with 26 points, with Northern Iowa taking home the title with 167.5 points. On the women's side, the Ramblers produced a score of 46, while Illinois State (138 points) collected its fourth straight indoor crown.

"We brought a small group to this MVC meet but overall it turned out pretty well," Loyola head track and field coach
Bob Thurnhoffer said. "As with most championships, there were some ups and downs but lots of great highlights across the board. We saved a lot of our student-athletes for the MVC Cross Country Championships on Wednesday and we are gearing up for what should be a great outdoor season for our program. It was awesome to see Anneka (Murrin), Mimi (Reimers), Claire (Hengesbaugh), Riley (DeMeulenaere), our men's distance medley relay and Lovie (Annafi) all achieve All-MVC accolades. We also had many that contributed in the scoring as well. Molly (Reighard) and Wes (Heal) stand out as seniors who really stepped up this weekend and Melissa (Parrella) showed a ton of potential moving forward in her first MVC final."
