CHICAGO (April 3, 2021) – Tenth-ranked Loyola University Chicago (13-5, 9-5 MIVA) has earned the No. 2 seed and will host seventh-seeded Lindenwood (5-12, 2-12 MIVA) April 10 in quarterfinal round action of the 2021 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Tournament. The Ramblers will be seeking their first NCAA Tournament appearance since winning the second of back-to-back NCAAA championships in 2015.
Â
Loyola swept the regular-season series from Lindenwood this year and will be facing the Lions for just the second time in MIVA Tournament play and first since 2018 when the Ramblers rolled to a 3-0 victory at Gentile Arena.Â
Â
In other quarterfinal action in the 2021 MIVA Tournament, No. 1 seed Lewis will host No. 8 seed Quincy, No. 3 McKendree will host No. 6 Purdue Fort Wayne and No. 4 Ball State will host No. 5 Ohio State.
Â
Should it defeat Lindenwood, Loyola would host the winner of the McKendree – Purdue Fort Wayne match in the semifinal round on April 17.Â
