MUNCIE, Ind. (September 17, 2021) – Led by a trio of players in the top 20, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team finds itself sitting as part of a tie for sixth place on the team leaderboard following the opening two rounds of the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational in Muncie, Ind.

The Maroon & Gold posted a 36-hole team score of 572 (283-289) through the first 36 holes of play today at the Delaware Country Club (par 70, 6,501 yards), closing the day alongside Taylor University (283-289=572). Wright State (271-269=540) holds a commanding advantage atop the team leaderboard, while the Raiders' Cole Corder leads the race for individual medalist honors after turning in a 10-under-par 130 (62-68).

Devin Johnson paced the attack for Loyola on the first day of play in The Hoosier State. The Geneva, Ill. product opened his morning with a one-under-par 69 ahead of an even-par 70 during the afternoon that saw him move into a tie for 11
th place with a one-under-par 139 (69-70).

The junior pairing of
Timmy Crawford and
Dylan Ellis are part of a tie for 16
th place following scores of 141 today. Crawford (66-75), out of Arlington Heights, Ill., fired an 18-hole career-low four-under-par 66 in his first round ahead of a second-round 75. Ellis (69-72), a native of Parkersburg, Iowa, matched Johnson's first-round effort with a one-under-par 69 before shooting a two-over-par 72 in the afternoon.

Zach Walsh impressed in second-round play, handing in a two-over-par 72 that has him tied for 53
