ORLANDO, FL – The Rambler men's golf team wrapped up the three-day event in Orlando Wednesday afternoon. Loyola Chicago competed in the A-10 Championship on the par-72, 7,068-yard Evermore Resort Golf Club.
Loyola finished in eighth at +25 (298-290-301) with a total score of 889.
"Finishing the year at the A-10 Championship this week was a special week. It's always exciting when our whole conference is together," said head coach Peter Pougnet. "The course was a great challenge and the wind swirling was difficult to judge. Every tournament this spring we were led by Dori, Seb and Charlie and this was no different. We just couldn't find a consistent fourth score."
Dori Lee led the Ramblers, finishing +2 after three rounds. He scored 218 (73-69-76) to tie for 15th place. He trailed behind Kulwun with 37 pars, which tied eighth in the tournament.
Next up for the Ramblers, Charlie Kulwin placed tied for 24th on the charts. He posted a three-round score of 221 (77-70-74). He also led the team with 38 pars, landing fourth in the tournament.
Sebastian Kasun finished in 31st place with a score of 222 (72-73-77). He trailed behind Overton with 11 birdies, which tied 14th in the tournament.
Jackson Overton and Ryan Walsh wrapped up team play. Overton tied for 46th with a score of 229 (76-79-74), while Walsh scored 245 (86-78-81) tied for 53rd place. Overton led the team with 12 birdies, tying tenth in the tournament.
"As we are sending off our seniors as they all finish their careers, I want to thank all five of them for all they have given to Loyola and look forward to watching them grow after graduation."
The A-10 Championship brought the Loyola men's golf season to a close, but also set the stage for what's ahead. Each round this season added to the team's growth, and competing on the conference stage was a valuable capstone experience. Now, the Ramblers look forward and are ready to learn from this year and come back even stronger next season.
