Devin Johnson (Geneva, Ill./Aurora Christian) picked up where he left off last spring when he won the Missouri Valley Conference individual title and led Loyola University Chicago to the program's second NCAA Regional berth, shooting a two-over-par 144 (71-73) through two rounds today at the season-opening Hoosier Collegiate Invitational. As a team, the Ramblers are in ninth place, just eight shots out of fifth, with a 36-hole mark of 592 (299-293).

Cincinnati holds down the top spot in the team standings after notching a 571 (283-288), with Illinois (291-282=573) and host Indiana (291-283=574) just behind the Bearcats. Through today's action, Loyola is ahead of MVC rivals Bradley (311-319=630) and Evansville (324-315=639).

Johnson got his fall campaign off to a strong start, carding an even-par 71 in the opening round today before tallying a two-over 73 in the final 18 holes of action and he will head into tomorrow's final round tied for 14
thplace overall.

Junior college transfer
Dylan Ellis (Parkersburg, Iowa/Aplington-Parkersburg /Des Moines Area CC) had a strong debut as a Rambler, shooting a 148 (73-75) and
Tyler Anderson (Mundelein, Ill./Carmel Catholic) was just behind Ellis after recording a 149 (77-72).
Ryan Magee (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Mundelein) and
Timmy Crawford (Arlington Heights, Ill./Saint Viator) rounded out the Ramblers' lineup with scores of 153 (80-73) and 159 (78-81), respectively.
