Ramblers Put Perfect Home Record On Line, Host George Mason This Weekend

First-place Loyola has won all five matches at Gentile Arena this season

CHICAGO (October 12, 2022) - Loyola looks to stay unbeaten in Atlantic 10 Conference play and maintain pace with Davidson atop the league standings when it welcomes George Mason to Gentile Arena this weekend for a pair of matches. The Ramblers have won seven straight matches, their longest streak since capturing eight consecutive contests, August 25 through September 14, 2018, in Amanda Berkley's first year on the Loyola bench.

Dating back to the 2019 season, the Ramblers have won 19 of their last 22 (.864) matches during the month of October.

At 7-0 in Atlantic 10 Conference action, Loyola is off to its best start in league play since commencing the 2001 conference slate with seven straight wins. The last time the Ramblers opened up league play with eight or more consecutive wins was 2000 (8-0). Wins on Friday and Saturday would give Loyola its best start ever in league competition, regardless of affiliation, through nine matches.

Loyola has won 16 of its last 18 matches overall at Gentile Arena and has prevailed in 10 of its last 11 league outings there, regardless of conference affiliation, since the start of the 2019 campaign.

Through matches of October 9, as a team, the Ramblers ranked second in NCAA Division I play with 1,046 kills and third in the nation with 954 assists.

Karlie McNabb returned to action on September 30 after missing the previous eight matches following the passing of her mother, Kim, from cancer. In five matches since her return, the junior outside hitter is tallying 4.18 kills, 2.24 digs and 0.47 service aces per set, while hitting at a .242 clip (71-23-198). McNabb, who ripped a career-best 19 kills at Michigan on September 3, is recording 5.00 kills and 2.00 digs per set in two matches at Gentile Arena this year.

Scouting George Mason

George Mason has tumbled in each of its last six outings since putting together a season-best, three-match win streak, September 17 through 23. The Patriots have won just two sets in their last four matches. George Mason is winless in six matches on the road this fall and has claimed just three sets in those six contests.

Sophomore right ride Olyvia Kennedy leads George Mason with 2.67 kills per set and is hitting .226 (176-78-433).

This is just the second meeting between Loyola and George Mason and the teams are pairing up for the first time since the Patriots claimed a 3-0 win on November 10, 1996.

Up Next

The Ramblers take to the road again next weekend when they visit Rhode Island on October 21 and 22.
