KETTERING, Ohio (October 17, 2022) – After a strong showing from graduate student
Tyler Anderson, the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team finds themselves in a tie for fifth place at the Flyer Invitational after a shortened first day. Teams were able to complete their first 18-holes before the second round was called due to darkness.

The Ramblers combined to post a team score of 298, placing them in a tie for fifth with Atlantic 10 rival Dayton. They currently sit five shots behind Wright State, who stands on top of the team leaderboard with a first round 293.Â

Anderson got to work quickly at the start of his round, birdieing the long par-three thirteenth hole. He then rattled off six consecutive pars before birdieing the par-five fifth hole. The Mundelein, Ill. product tied his season-low score with an even-par 71 to sit two shots off of the individual lead in a share of 2
nd.

Timmy Crawford followed Anderson closely, finishing his day with a two-over-par 73 to join Anderson in the top-10 to place in a share of 9
th. Freshman
Charlie Kulwin found himself one stroke behind Crawford, with a three-over-par 74 putting him in a tie for 15
th. Freshman
Sebastian Kasun (T-67) and senior
Zach Walsh (T-70) rounded out the leaderboard for the Maroon & Gold, finishing their days a stroke apart with an 80 and an 81 respectively.

Loyola will resume their second round on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. (CT) and will go straight into the final round after completing their second round.Â
