TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago softball team kicked off the final day of the JoAnne Graf Classic as they took on Mercer University for the third time this trip. Following a close seven-inning game, the Bears were the ones who came out on top, winning 3-4 over the Ramblers.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Even after the two wins Loyola got over the Bears earlier this weekend, this game went a little differently for the Ramblers. Mercer started off strong, scoring two runs in the first to grab the early momentum. The Ramblers responded back with two runs of their own at the top of the second, but it didn't last long as the Bears came back with another run for a 3-2 lead in the second.
Both teams went two more innings before another run was scored. The Ramblers grabbed one more run in the fifth but the tie was short-lived as the Bears grabbed another of their own. The rest of the game went scoreless, resulting in the 3-4 loss for Loyola.
