SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (March 21, 2022) – Redshirt senior Tyler Anderson equaled his 18-hole season low as the Loyola University Chicago men's golf team opened play at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in Springfield, Mo. today.

Due to rain and thunderstorms that moved through the area, play was halted midway through the second round.  Previously scheduled for 54 holes, the event will now be reduced 36 holes, with teams slated to complete second-round play on Tuesday, weather permitting.
 
Loyola finished first-round action at the Twin Oaks Country Club (par 71; 6,760 yards) with a team score of 304 that has it sitting in 15^th place.  Oral Roberts (271) resides atop the team leaderboard, while Wichita State's Dawson Lewis carded a five-under-par 66 to take the lead in the individual race.
 
Anderson put together the top round of the day by a Rambler this morning in the Ozarks.  The Mundelein, Ill. native registered a team-high four birdies, three of which came on the back nine, to finish the first round with a one-over-par 72.  Anderson's total from today marks his third round of 72 of the 2021-22 season. 
 
Graduate student Devin Johnson and junior Zach Walsh both handed in respective scores of 76.  Johnson finished his round with a flurry, playing his final six holes of the day at two-under-par.
 
Junior Timmy Crawford posted an 80, while graduate student Ryan Magee shot an 81 to close the first day of action.
 
The second and final round of the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate will resume at 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning.
