TUCSON, Ariz. (March 4, 2022) – The Loyola University Chicago softball team played their first game of the Wildcat Invitational hosted by No. 9 Arizona. To kick off the tournament, the Ramblers plated the Bobcats of Texas State. It was a battle with these two teams as this tough Texas State team only won by one with a score of 2-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Ramblers started the game at the plate, hoping to get an early start against the Bobcats. However, it was Texas State who scored first. They came out swinging in the second inning, scoring a run to take the early advantage. They continued with the offensive momentum in the second, bringing the score up to 2-0 at the bottom of the third.
It took some time, but Loyola's bats finally got hot.
Ava Bieneman scored off an error by the Bobcats, putting the Ramblers down by one heading into the final inning. Even with this final push, it wasn't enough. The Maroon and Gold lost 2-1 to the Bobcats.
