Loyola To Host Selection Sunday Party On March 13 At Gentile Arena

Ramblers are making third NCAA Tournament appearance in the last five years

CHICAGO (March 8, 2022) – After clinching its third NCAA Tournament berth in the last five years, the Loyola University Chicago men's basketball program will host a NCAA Selection Show party on Sunday, March 13, at Gentile Arena. Doors open at 4:15 p.m., and the show, which will air live on CBS, will begin at 5 p.m.

Sunday's NCAA Selection Show party is free and open to the public and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Current Gentile Arena game-day protocols will be followed, so fans age five and older will be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to gain entry to the facility, while those age 16 and over will also need to provide identification that matches their vaccination record.

Individuals who have previously received a medical or religious exemption from Loyola are exempt, provided patrons show proof of the medical or religious exemption along with a negative COVID-19 test administered by a medical professional within 72 hours of Sunday's event. Guests age two and older are required to wear masks inside Gentile Arena.

Loyola secured its fourth postseason berth in the last five seasons, and its eighth trip to the NCAA Tournament in program history, with a 64-58 victory over Drake on March 6 in the title game of the Missouri Valley Conference Championship to gain the league's automatic bid to the Big Dance.

The Ramblers enter the postseason with a 25-7 overall record under first-year head coach Drew Valentine, who is the only coach in program history to guide his team to a NCAA Tournament berth in his first season on the Loyola sidelines. This marks the first time since the 1962-63 and 1963-64 seasons that Loyola has earned a trip to the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back years.
