Williamson Continues NBA Workouts This Week

Two-time MVC Defensive Player of the Year to work out for Hawks and Grizzlies this week

CHICAGO (May 9, 2022) – Lucas Williamson (Chicago, Ill./Whitney Young) will continue his workouts for NBA teams this week when he showcases his skills for the Atlanta Hawks and Memphis Grizzlies. The former Loyola University Chicago standout worked out last week for the Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics as he looks to begin his professional basketball career.

The 6-foot-4 guard, who helped the Ramblers to three NCAA Tournament appearances during his five-year career in Rogers Park, concluded his time in a Loyola uniform as the program's all-time winningest player with 124 victories.

A two-time Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year selection, Williamson's best overall campaign came in 2021-22 when he provided 13.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.3 steals per contest, while sinking 39 percent of his three-point attempts, while leading Loyola to 25 wins and a NCAA Tournament appearance. He collected First Team All-MVC and First Team National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 16 recognition this season and was a Senior CLASS Award First Team All-American. In Valley play, he put up 16.3 ppg.

Williamson is one of only 23 players in Loyola history to total over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in his career and he finished his time on campus ranked second in school annals with 223 three-point field goals and 190 steals.
