CHICAGO (July 27, 2022) – Jeff Jendryk (Wheaton, Ill./St. Francis), who was a four-time American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America selection during his collegiate career at Loyola University Chicago, recently helped the U.S. Men's National Team to a silver medal at the Volleyball Nations League in Bologna, Italy.
The U.S. staged a furious rally after dropping the first two sets to France in the gold medal match on Sunday before coming up short in the fifth set. Jendryk, a middle blocker who was named American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Newcomer of the Year in 2015, dominated in set four against France in the gold medal match, tallying four kills and three blocks in a 25-21 set victory.
During his collegiate career at Loyola, Jendryk was a starter on teams that won back-to-back NCAA championships in 2014 and 2015 and he concluded his time in Rogers Park as the only player in program history to be a four-time AVCA All-American. Jendryk finished his career ranked second on Loyola's career hitting percentage chart (.449).
