Loyola Readies for Road Trip to Rhode Island

Ramblers and Rams tip off at 11 a.m. CT Sunday on CBS Sports Network

CHICAGO (January 14, 2023) – The Loyola University Chicago women's basketball team (6-11, 1-3 A-10) returns to Atlantic 10 Conference action Sunday at Rhode Island (13-3, 4-0 A-10) in a nationally-televised contest on CBS Sports Network. The Ramblers, who are looking to snap a three-game slide, meet the Rams for an 11 a.m. CT tipoff time inside the Thomas M. Ryan Center.

LAST TIME OUT
Despite a season-low 10 turnovers, Loyola fell 58-36 at Saint Joseph's last Tuesday. The Ramblers trailed by four entering the final quarter of play until the Hawks used a 15-0 run to take control. Sitori Tanin led the Ramblers with seven points and eight rebounds while Maya Chandler and Sam Galanopoulos each added six points. Loyola looked strong and had momentum in the third quarter, closing the period on a 9-2 run and holding the Hawks to just 3-of-13 (23.1%) shooting. A layup from Galanopoulos made it a four-point game with under three minutes left in the third, before Chandler's layup near the one-minute mark trimmed Saint Joe's lead to 34-30.

Sunday's matchup is the first meeting against Rhode Island in program history. In total, Loyola's 2022-23 schedule features 15 first-time opponents.
