Ramblers Head to Pittsburgh to Face Duquesne Wednesday Evening

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+

CHICAGO (January 24, 2023) – Loyola University University Chicago is back in action this Wednesday, Jan. 25, as the Ramblers head to Pittsburgh to take on Duquesne in A-10 action. Tip-off inside UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse is set for 6 p.m. (CT) on ESPN+. Tim Benz and Ellis Cannon will have the call of the action while Wednesday's game can also be heard on the Rambler Sports Network, with Jeff Hagedorn and Christian Thomas calling the action live from Pittsburgh.
 
Last Time Out
Four Loyola bench players combined for 47 of the Ramblers' 67 points Saturday as Loyola picked up its first A-10 win of the season with a 67-55 victory over St. Bonaventure inside Gentile Arena. Tom Welch led the way with 16 points off the bench while Jeameril Wilson and Jacob Hutson set season highs with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Marquise Kennedy chipped in 10 points off the bench as well as the Ramblers held the Bonnies to just 31.1% shooting from the field.
 
Loyola-Duquesne – The Series
Wednesday will mark the 18th meeting all-time between the Ramblers and Dukes but just the first meeting in almost 30 years. Duquesne leads the all-time series with an 11-6 advantage, with the two teams last meeting on Feb. 18, 1993. Loyola picked up a win earlier in the 1992-93 season, taking the Dukes by a 67-65 margin in Pittsburgh on Jan. 14, 1993. Prior to that meeting, the previous 15 meetings took place between 1930 and 1962.
 
Scouting Duquesne
Duquesne currently ranks third in the A-10 in scoring offense, averaging 74.1 points per game. Dae Dae Grant leads the Dukes offense to the tune of 15.1 points per game while Jimmy Clark III (12.3) and R.J. Gunn (10.4) both average in double figures. As a team, Duquesne leads hte A-10 and ranks 15th nationally in offensive rebounding, averaging 13.4 o-boards per contest. Austin Rotroff comes off the bench to average a team-leading 5.9 rebounds per contest (and a team-leading 60 offensive rebounds), while five other Dukes average 4+ rebounds per game. Grant is a threat from beyond the arc, as his 58 made 3-pointers leads all Atlantic 10 players and ranks 34th nationally. Keith Dambrot is in his sixth season at the helm of the Duquesne program after leading the Akron program for 13 seasons.
