CHICAGO -- The Loyola University Chicago women's volleyball team looks to extend its five-match winning streak as the team hits the road for a weekend series at George Mason. First serve on Friday in Fairfax is set for 5pm (CT) while Saturday's series finale is scheduled to begin at 1pm (CT). Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
RAMBLINGS
- Bree Borum notched her first-career triple-double and Loyola's first triple-double since 2013 when the setter posted 30 assists, 10 digs and a career-high 10 kills against DePaul. The setter followed it up with her second triple-double of the year, recording 31 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills against Dayton on Sept. 22. Borum's sister, Josi (Youngstown State) is currently third in NCAA Division I volleyball with four triple-doubles this year.
- Addie Barnes became the 11th member of Loyola's 1,000-kill club with her 16-kill performance against Dayton on Sept. 23. Taylor Venuto joined Barnes in the 1,000-kill club with a five-kill effort against Saint Louis on Oct. 3 to become the 12th player to earn the recognition.
- Bree Borum became the latest Rambler to garner weekly accolades as the setter was named A-10 Player of the Week on Monday. Borum averaged 2.11 kills per set on a .441 hitting percentage while dishing out 10.33 assists per set and picking up 3 digs per set. Borum set a new season high with five service aces in Loyola's win over George Washington on Oct. 7.
- Loyola's current five-match winning streak has come in dominant fashion. Following a 3-2 win at Davidson on Sept. 29, each of Loyola's last four victories have been sweeps (at Davidson, at Saint Louis, vs. George Washington (2x)).
- Loyola picked up its first ranked win in almost two decades in the team's first tournament of the season when the Ramblers defeated No. 16 Purdue, 3-2. It was Loyola's first win over a ranked opponent since Sept. 14, 2004 when the Ramblers took down No. 9 Illinois, 3-2, in Champaign.
