Quoting Coach Berkley
"I thought Addie [Barnes] had a great match offensively," said head coach
Amanda Berkley. "She did a great job getting her feet to the ball and mixing up her shots. George Mason stepped up their game, passed really well and was tough for us to score points. I'm proud of the team for responding after the second set."

How It Happened

Â
The two teams traded points in the early going of the third set. Tied at 10-all, Loyola ripped off four unanswered to build a 14-10 lead and force a George Mason timeout. Borum had a kill and an ace to bookend the run while
Emily Banitt recorded a kill and
Taylor Venuto added a solo block. While the Patriots tried to close the gap late, Loyola held on to take the 25-21 decision and go up 2-1 in the match.
Â
Barnes came alive in the fourth and final set, recording seven of her 18 kills in the final frame to lift Loyola to a 25-18 victory. Loyola took the lead at 2-1 on a George Mason attack error and never looked back to pick up the program's seventh victory in a row.
