Petar Janjic was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week and senior
Julian Cisneros was tabbed to the College Soccer News Men's National Team of the Week.
Janjic notched the second game-winner of his freshman campaign last Saturday, scoring a beautiful header after receiving a perfect cross from Cisneros on the opposite side of the box. The goal, scored in the 29
th minute, was his fifth of the season as the rookie is now tied for LUC's (7-2-3, 3-1-2 A10) lead in game-winners (two) and total goals (five). Janjic's A-10 plaudit was his third of the season.
Cisneros tallied his first-ever College Soccer News Team of the Week honor and Loyola's first since Grant Stoneman received the award in 2018. Cisneros led the 'Blers with three points (one goal, one assist) against the Billikens. After the defensive midfielder assisted on Janjic's goal, he put the cherry on top of the Maroon and Gold's day, scoring an empty-net goal in the 90
th minute after controlling a long pass from
Ben Bischoff.
The win marked Loyola Chicago's first over the Billikens (7-4-2, 4-1-1 A10) since 1996 and snapped Saint Louis' 12-match unbeaten streak in A-10 regular-season and tournament games.
The Ramblers return to action this Saturday (Oct. 21) as they take on Rhode Island at 6 p.m. CT in Kingston, R.I.
