Red-Hot Ramblers Welcome George Washington

Loyola and Revolutionaries square off Saturday and Sunday

CHICAGO -- The Loyola University Chicago women's volleyball team looks to extend its three-match winning streak as the team returns home to take on George Washington in a weekend series this Saturday and Sunday. First serve Saturday is set for 3 p.m. while Sunday's finale is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.

MESSED AROUND AND GOT A TRIPLE-DOUBLE
•    Bree Borum had a career night against DePaul on Sept. 15, recording her first-career triple-double.
•    Borum finished the night with 30 assists, 10 digs and a career-high 10 kills.
•    It was the first Loyola triple-double since Brittany Brown had three in the 2013 season, with her last coming on Nov. 24, 2013.
•    Borum would notch her second triple-double of the season the following weekend with 31 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills against Dayton on Sept. 22.
•    Borum is just 1-of-10 players in Division I women's volleyball to record multiple triple-doubles this season, and the only Atlantic 10 Conference player to have a triple-double this year.
•    Borum's sister, Josi (Youngstown State), is second in the country with four triple-doubles this year. The Borum sisters account for 6 of the 36 triple-doubles this year.

SERVE IT UP
•    Addie Barnes was a weapon from the service line against UIC on Sept. 15, finishing the match with a career-high seven  service aces against the Flames.
•    The seven aces are the most by any Atlantic 10 Conference player this season and  tied for the fourth-most in a Division I match this season.
•    Barnes is currently third in the Atlantic 10 and 55th nationally with 21 aces on the year.

BANITT NAMED A-10 POTW
•    Emily Banitt picked up the first weekly award of the season for Loyola, being named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Aug. 29.
•    Banitt, who was also named to the All-Tournament Team of Purdue's season-opening tournament, helped the Ramblers to a 2-1 record and an upset victory over No. 16 Purdue.
•    Against the Boilermakers, Banitt matched a career-high with 19 kills while committing just three errors on 30 total attempts (.533 hitting percentage).
•    The right-side hitter picked up her first double-double of the season in the win, finishing with 12 digs while adding three blocks, three assists and a pair of aces.

THE BEST OF THE BEST
•    Loyola's 2023 schedule features four opponents who are nationally ranked.
•    The Ramblers fell to No. 18 Creighton to open the season before defeating No. 16 Purdue on the Boilermakers' home court two days later.
•    Loyola's home opener featured a pair of ranked foes in Pittsburgh and Tennessee.
The Panthers, a national semifinalist a year ago, were ranked 9th nationally while the Volunteers, Loyola's other opponent on its first weekend at home, was ranked 18th in the country.
•    The Ramblers dropped a pair of A-10 matches to No. 23 Dayton to open the conference season.
•    Duke, who was swept by Loyola on Aug. 26, is currently receiving votes.

BERKLEY NOTCHES  #200 & #100
•    With Loyola's 3-0 sweep over Duke on Aug. 26, head coach Amanda Berkley collected her 200th career win as a head coach.
•    In her 11th season as a head coach, Berkley has compiled a career head coaching record of 204-123.
•    Berkley added another honor to her resume on Oct. 3 when she picked up her 100th career victory at the helm of the Loyola Chicago women's volleyball program.
