Ramblers Round Out Season Series With Saint Louis

Tip-off against the Billikens is set for 5 p.m. on Saturday

CHICAGO (February 24, 2023) - Loyola University Chicago hits the road on Saturday, February 25 when the Ramblers travel to St. Louis to take on the Billikens to round out the regular season series between the two schools. Tip-off inside Chaifetz Arena is set for 5:00 p.m. on CBS Sports Network, with Chris Lewis and BJ Taylor on the call. Saturday's game can also be heard on the Rambler Sports Network, with Jeff Hagedorn and Christian Thomas calling the action live courtside.
 
Last Time Out
Philip Alston scored a team-high 19 points and was 1-of 4 Ramblers in double figures as Loyola dropped a back-and-forth 71-69 decision to Fordham. Bryce Golden scored 13 points, Ben Schwieger added 11 and Sheldon Edwards had his best game since the season-opener with 11 points in just 11 minutes of action. Wednesday's game came down to the wire, with 14 ties and 13 lead changes, as neither team led by more than five points in the contest.
 
Saint Louis/Loyola – The Series
Loyola is looking to even the season series against the Billikens after Saint Louis picked up a 76-59 victory inside Gentile Arena on Jan. 18. Braden Norris led four Ramblers in double figures with a team-high 15 points as Loyola let a four-point halftime lead slip away. The Ramblers did a great job holding onto the ball in the game, committing a season-low nine turnovers in the contest. With that decision, Loyola now owns a one-game lead in the all-time series with a 24-23 edge. Loyola is looking to pick up their first win at Saint Louis since a 76-67 overtime victory on Jan. 26, 1987.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis enters the game tied for third in the league with a 10-5 A10 mark and an 18-10 overall record. Yuri Collins is the top assist man in the country, leading all Division I programs with 10.2 assists per game and 275 total assists on the season. As a team, Saint Louis is ninth in the country in defensive rebounds per game, averaging 28.32 a contest.
 
Francis Okoro is tied for first in the conference with 8.9 rebounds per contest. Okoro is also one of the top rim protectors in the league, averaging 1.4 blocks per game. Travis Ford is in his seventh season at the helm of the Saint Louis program, owning a 130-87 record with the Billikens and a 466-353 career head coaching record.
