Loyola to Host Saint Louis on Senior Day

Tipoff set for 1 p.m. CT on ESPN3

CHICAGO (February 24, 2023) – Loyola (6-22, 1-14) will host Senior Day tomorrow afternoon as Saint Louis (13-17, 9-6) visits Gentile Arena in Atlantic 10 women's basketball action. The regular season finale will tip off at 1 p.m. CT, with the contest airing live on ESPN 3.
 
Last Time Out
Loyola led the entire first half Wednesday at Duquesne, holding the Dukes scoreless for nearly six minutes in the second quarter en route to a 33-30 halftime lead. But, the Ramblers fell behind in the third following a 14-0 run from the Dukes and couldn't recover. Sam Galanopoulos scored a career-high 20 points with six assists to lead Loyola, while Anna Brown knocked down four treys to finish with 15 points. The Ramblers (12-28) doubled up the Dukes (6-14) from beyond the arc, recording the squad's most made threes in a game this season. Duquesne's Precious Johnson led the hosts with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
 
Series Stuff
Loyola's most recent victory this season came in the A-10 opener at Saint Louis back on Dec. 28, with the Ramblers pulling out a 13-point triumph (60-47). Loyola leads the all-time series 13-6 after snapping a six-game losing streak to the Billikens in the most recent matchup. Prior to this season, the most recent meeting occurred on Dec. 2, 2003 with SLU registering a five-point victory (68-63) in Chicago. The Ramblers are 6-3 at home against the Billikens, but have dropped the past three meetings in Chicago.
 
Scouting Saint Louis
Saint Louis, which has won seven out of its past eight games, is fighting for a top four seed in next week's A-10 Championship where they are currently tied for third in the standings at 9-6 in league play. The Billikens are coming off a crucial home win (77-75) over UMass Wednesday night, overcoming an eight-point deficit in the third quarter and never trailing in the fourth. Kyla McMakin led four players in double digits with 19 points, as the Billikens out-rebounded UMass 45-35. Saint Louis is 3-10 on the road this season, including 3-4 in conference road contests.
