NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (February 28, 2023) – Loyola's
Sitori Tanin has been selected to the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Basketball All-Academic Team, as the league announced its 2022-23 End-of-Season awards on Tuesday. Tanin becomes the first student-athlete to earn A-10 postseason honors in Loyola women's basketball program history. She is one of six honorees named to the All-Academic Team.
Tanin, a junior advertising & public relations major, has started 21 of 26 appearances this season for the Ramblers. She's averaging 9.5 points and team-high 6.3 rebounds per game, both career-high marks, while establishing herself as a dominant and versatile post presence in the A-10.
Tanin has registered four double-double efforts this season, including three out of six contests to finish the regular season. During that span Tanin averaged 13.3 points and 9.5 rebounds. Overall, Tanin has reached double figures in the scoring column on 13 occasions including seven of the past eight games in A-10 play.
Loyola opens the A-10 Women's Basketball Championship in Wilmington, Del. as the 15th seed, where it takes on the 10th seed Duquesne in Wednesday's First Round. The Ramblers and Dukes are the second game of the day, with tipoff slotted for 1:30 p.m. CT tipoff inside Chase Fieldhouse.
