Loyola Travels to Fordham Saturday

Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT at Rose Hill Gym

CHICAGO (February 3, 2023) – After an improved offensive performance the last time out, Loyola (6-16, 1-8 A-10) returns to conference play Saturday afternoon for the program's first meeting with Fordham (15-8, 7-3 A-10). The Ramblers and Rams will tip off at 1 p.m. CT in Bronx, N.Y., with the contest airing live on ESPN+ from Fordham's Rose Hill Gym.

LAST TIME OUT
Loyola had four players reach double figures in the scoring column, but it wasn't enough in Wednesday's 81-68 home setback against Dayton. Maya Chandler and Sitori Tanin each posted a team-high 14 points, while Kira Chivers and Sam Galanopoulos both scored 12 points to help lead the Ramblers. Loyola shot 40% overall from the floor and scored its most points in a league game this season. The Ramblers tallied their highest scoring first quarter (16) and second quarter (20) in conference play. It was also the third-highest first half total this season and the highest opening half in a home game. Four Ramblers scored in double figures for the first time since the A-10 opening win at Saint Louis, and the third time overall this year.

SERIES STUFF
Loyola and Fordham will meet for the first time ever on Saturday. The Ramblers are 3-7 against new opponents during the 2022-23 campaign.

SCOUTING FORDHAM
Winners of three of its previous four games, Fordham enters the matchup tied for third in the A-10 standings while boasting a strong 9-3 record in home contests. The Rams, who are coming off Wednesday's 85-51 road win at Saint Louis, are one of the top scoring offenses (73.3 ppg) in the league as one of only two teams averaging over 70 points per game, led by the current top two A-10 scoring leaders Asiah Dingle (19.1 ppg) and Anna DeWolfe (18.3 ppg). The duo has accounted for 51% of the team's scoring production as one of the top tandems in the nation. Dingle also ranks second in the conference in steals (76).
