AZUSA, Calif. (April 15, 2023) – The Bryan Clay Invitational wrapped up Saturday with a dominant night in the 1,500 for the Ramblers.
Jason Clayton's 1,500 run ranks third in the record books, while
Kelly Andrews and
Emma Murray join him with PRs in the women's 1,500.
Clayton posted a time of 3:41.76 for a new personal best. He holds the No. 3 spot on the all-time list just narrowly missing the second-best time.
For the women, Andrews earned her second heat win of the weekend and recorded another personal record. She ran a time of 4:40.72. Murray trailed just behind with a new record of 4:45.06.
The day began with
Jevan Terry racing in the 100 dash for Loyola. He recorded a time of 11.16. A few events later, Terry then competed in the 200 dash with a time of 22.30.
The Rambler women also saw action in the 100 and 400 hurdles.
Jayla Johnson recorded a time of 14.54 in the 100.
Erin Connors led Loyola in the 400 with a time of 1:02.11. With that time, Connors moved up to fourth in the all-time list with a PR over a second faster than her previous best.
Madi McLain wrapped up the event with a time of 1:07.28.
The Ramblers make one more trip down state to Illinois on April 21-22. They'll run in the Gary Wieneke Memorial for one final tune-up before the A-10 Outdoor Championships.
