CHICAGO (June 13, 2023) – A total of 18 student-athletes from the Loyola men's volleyball program have earned Academic All-MIVA honors, the league office announced Tuesday. The 18 honorees are second-most among all MIVA institutions, trailing only Lewis' 19 selections.
Â
In total, 107 student-athletes from the MIVA's eight member institutions were named to the list. To be eligible, student-athletes must have achieved at least a career 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale after the completion of the spring semester at their respective institutions. As a team, the Ramblers excelled in the classroom this past year, finishing the 2022-23 season with a combined team GPA of 3.49.
Â
The honors cap a 2023 season in which the Ramblers captured a share of the MIVA regular season title for the first time since 2018. Additionally, six Ramblers garnered All-MIVA honors while head coach
John Hawks was named the 2023 MIVA Coach of the Year.
