WASHINGTON D.C. (Sept. 16, 2023) – The Loyola University Chicago men's soccer team opened Atlantic 10 play with a resounding 2-0 win over George Washington Saturday afternoon on the road.
Oscar Dueso scored both of Loyola Chicago's goals as LUC improved to 4-1-1 overall.

How it Happened
The Ramblers scored first in the 13
th minute of action after Quiten Blair fed Dueso a beautiful pass to set up the score. Dueso, with the Ramblers first shot of the game, sunk the opportunity on-goal as LUC claimed an early 1-0 lead over the Revolutionaries.
Loyola sent off four more attempts through the remainder of the half while the back line held GW to just three.
In the second half, the Ramblers kept the pressure high with five shots in the first 17 minutes of play. The sixth attempt found the back of the net as Dueso netted his second-straight goal of the day.
John Gates was credited with the assist as Loyola doubled its advantage in the 62
nd minute.
The 'Blers defensive corps held George Washington to only two shots through the final 45 minutes as LUC won the game, 2-0.
