Volleyball Embarks on First A-10 Road Trip

Loyola travels to take on Davidson Friday and Saturday, Sept. 29-30

CHICAGO -- The Loyola University Chicago women's volleyball team hits the road in almost a month this weekend as the Ramblers head to North Carolina to take on Davidson in the first road matches of conference play for Loyola. The Ramblers and Wildcats will square off at 6 p.m.  (CT) Friday before rounding out the weekend series with a 5:00 p.m. (CT) first serve on Saturday. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
  • Bree Borum notched her first-career triple-double and Loyola's first triple-double since 2013 when the setter posted 30 assists, 10 digs and a career-high 10 kills against DePaul. The setter followed it up with her second triple-double of the year, recording 31 assists, 12 digs and 10 kills against Dayton on Sept. 22. Borum's sister, Josi (Youngstown State) is currently tied for the NCAA DI lead with four triple-doubles this year
  • Addie Barnes became the 11th member of Loyola's 1,000-kill club with her 16-kill performance against Dayton on Sept. 23.
  • Emily Banitt and Anna Feldkamp were rewarded for their performances over the first two weeks as each player has been named to an All-Tournament Team. Banitt was selected to the All-Tournament Team at Purdue following her standout performance in the Ramblers' upset win over Purdue while Feldkamp picked up All-Tournament honors the second weekend with a pair of double-digit kill performances against Bowling Green and Wright State.
  • Loyola picked up its first ranked win in almost two decades in the team's first tournament of the season when the Ramblers defeated No. 16 Purdue, 3-2. It was Loyola's first win over a ranked opponent since Sept. 14, 2004 when the Ramblers took down No. 9 Illinois, 3-2, in Champaign.
  • The Ramblers will look to defend its A-10 title as Loyola was selected to repeat as Atlantic 10 Conference Champions in the preseason poll. Loyola secured seven of the 10 first-place votes to sit atop the poll with 97 total points. Dayton, Loyola's opponent in last year's conference championship match, was picked to finish second (two first-place votes). Davidson picked up the 10th and final first-place ballot to secure third place in the preseason poll.
