Loyola Takes Off to Fordham Saturday

Tipoff is 12 p.m. CT

CHICAGO - Loyola Chicago is taking back-to-back wins on the road this weekend looking to make it three straight at Fordham. Tipoff between the Ramblers and Rams is set for 12 p.m. CT. It opens a two-game trip out east ahead of Loyola playing at VCU.

Saturday's game can be streamed on ESPN+ or be listened to on the Rambler Sports Network with Scott Sudikoff (PXP) and Christian Thomas (Analyst).

• Philip Alston scored the final eight points for Loyola vs. Massachusetts helping the Ramblers come away with a 79-78 win Wednesday night. Alston finished with 23 points for his third 20-point effort this season.
• With the win, Loyola matched its Atlantic 10 win total from 2022-23. The Ramblers are currently 4-1 and sit third in the standings.
• Des Watson added 15 points in the win over UMass, marking his fifth game over the last six with at least 10 points scored. Watson also tallied a season-high nine rebounds and added three assists and two steals.
• Braden Norris led the Ramblers with six assists, helping the team to 20 total on 26 field goals. Norris surpassed 600 career assists and has 436 as a Rambler.
• As a team, Loyola continues to lead the league with 17.2 assists per game, ranking 24th in the country. Norris has 88 total assists, landing in the nation's top-50 at 45th.
• Loyola holds it opponents to 39.8 percent from the field sitting 32nd in the country. The Ramblers also average 28.5 rpg to sit 27th.
• Miles Rubin tallied three more blocks against the Minutemen bringing his season total to 42. Rubin needs two more to tie 10th on the program's single-season list. He currently ranks 12th in the country in total blocks.
• Rubin blocks 13.78 percent of the opposing team's field goal attempts, which is the third highest block percentage in the NCAA and highest among the freshmen class.
• Head coach Drew Valentine is in his third season at the helm. He holds a 47-35 overall career record.

Scouting Fordham
The Rams are 8-9 overall and 2-2 in league play. They jumped into the conference schedule taking George Washington to three overtimes and coming away with a 119-113 win. Fordham also earned a win at St. Bonaventure before dropping a home game to Davidson earlier this week, 79-69. The Rams are fourth in the A10 rankings, averaging 76.0 points per game. The rank second in rebounding (39.1 rpg).

Japhet Medor is one of three Rams averaging double-digit points per game with a team-leading 12.7. He was on a five-game double-figure scoring streak before Davidson held him to just three earlier this week. He dropped a season-best 24 points in the triple overtime win over George Washington.

Keith Urgo is in his second season with the Rams and holds a 33-17 overall record.

Series History
The Rams lead the all-time series 2-1. Fordham bested Loyola last season, 71-69. Alston led Loyola with 19 points.
