Flyers Complete Sweep Over Ramblers

DAYTON, Ohio – No. 22 Dayton won the series Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 win over Loyola Chicago. It concluded a four-match road trip for the Ramblers who will return home for the next four.

Loyola sits at 9-9 overall and 4-3 in the A-10 following the weekend.

"We were tested by a really solid Dayton team this weekend," said head coach Amanda Berkley. "I don't think we played up to our standard. We saw glimpses of it in the third set yesterday and the first set today, but we need to play a full match that way. We will get back in the gym this week and make adjustments ahead of the VCU series."

Bree Borum notched another double-double on the year with team-bests 12 kills and 15 assists. She fell just one dig shy of a triple-double with nine.

Emma Henry dished out 11 assists, while Esma Ajanovic had nine kills to finish just behind Borum Saturday afternoon.

It wasn't over as Burke sparked a 4-0 run for Loyola to get within one of Dayton. Burke and Borum then teamed to with a pair of kills to tie it one final time, 23-23. Despite the Rambler effort, the Flyers closed to win, 25-23.
