CHICAGO – Loyola University Chicago is excited to announce six signees from the class of 2025 joining the Ramblers softball team next fall. The decorated recruitment class includes three outfielders, two pitchers and one infielder/utility.
"Our 2025 recruiting class is a remarkable blend of talent and experience, bringing together a high softball IQ, a proven track record of winning championships, and a ton of versatility in the batter's box. With speed, power, and consistency, they will elevate our lineup," said head coach
Alicia Abbott. "The addition of two pitchers who perfectly complement our current staff will strengthen us in the circle. This class will enhance our pursuit of excellence both on and off the field."
Mackenzie Patterson | Outfielder | South Elgin, Ill. | St. Charles North
Hailing from South Elgin, Ill., Patterson is a four-year letterwinner and two-time Class 4A State Champion (2022, 2024). As a consistent starter at St. Charles North, Patterson helped her team to back-to-back conference championships in 2022 and 2023, earning her an All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2022 and the Most Improved Player in 2023. The 5-foot-9outfielder and senior captain garnered unanimous All-Conference and Second Team All-State in 2024. In her high school career, Patterson so far has 57 runs batted in, 83 hits, 75 runs, five homeruns and 14 stolen bases. She is a three-year Academic All-Conference recipent and plays club softball for the Dennison Silver Hawks.

Evelyn Miller | Infielder/Utility | Brighton, Mich. | Mercy High School Farmington Hills
Miller is coming from Mercy, the No. 1 high school softball team in Michigan in 2024, where she's lettered one year. After playing the toughest schedule in the state, Miller contributed as the cleanup hitter and had 42 RBI, 1.249 OPS, nine homers and a .414 batting average in 2024. The 5-foot-5 first base and utility player was named to the All-District Team and All-League Team after helping her team to a D1 Final Four appearance in 2024. Miller is an honor roll student and scholar-athlete; she plays club for Turnin2 National.

Megan Piotrowski | Outfielder | Tinley Park, Ill. | Tinley Park
South of Chicago, Piotrowski comes from Tinley Park, Ill. with two varsity letters and an over .500 batting average, 16 homeruns, 60 stolen bases and .750 OBP across her three-year high school career. In 2024, Piotrowski was named the Player of the Year and earned First Team All-State honors after her junior year campaign. The left-handed batter and right-handed outfielder received All-Conference and All-Area recognition in her first three seasons and was named to Second Team All-State as a sophomore. Piotrowski is a high-honors student who also played volleyball in high school; she plays club softball for Sparks Premier.
Abbott on Piotrowski: "Megan is an outfielder with remarkable range, a strong arm, and impressive speed. She knows how to leverage her skills at the plate to get on base and isn't afraid to push for those extra bases. A decorated player at the high school level, she not only leads by example but also isn't afraid to be a vocal leader in the outfield, rallying her teammates with confidence and determination."
Alexis Hansen | Outfielder | Dearborn, Mich. | Divine Child
Out of Dearborn, Mich., Hansen is a four-year letterwinner with a number of postseason accolades. She earned All-District and All-Area nods her first three seasons and was named to the All-Region team the last two years. Hansen garnered First Team All-State her sophomore year and an All-Catholic nod her senior year. In her debut high school season, Hansen had a .309 batting average then improved to .448 BA and .511 OBP the next year. After the 2024 season, Hansen had a .449 BA, .518 OBP and 1.151 OPS.
Abbott on Hansen: "Lexi's upward trajectory over the last two years has been impressive, and she's thrilled to embrace her role as a Rambler. Her athleticism is evident as she consistently finds a way to get on base and uses her speed to create opportunities on the basepaths and in the outfield."
Katie Geydoshek | Pitcher | Green Bay, Wis. | Green Bay Preble
Green Bay, Wis. native Geydoshek joins the Ramblers as a right-handed pitcher. The four-year letterwinner has garnered career stats of .86 ERA, 43-9 record, 275.2 innings pitched, 518 strikeouts and a .416 batting average. In 2023 and 2024, Geydoshek was named the FRCC Player of the Year and she earned spots on the All-Conference and All-District First Teams; she received back-to-back First Team All-State selections.
Abbott on Geydoshek: "Katie is a true force on the mound, bringing an incredible work ethic and a bulldog energy that inspires everyone around her. As a teammate, she lifts others up, showing what it means to lead with passion and dedication. She has gotten better with every outing we've seen her in during the recruiting process and we're excited to add her into the pitching rotation."
Anna Kiel | Pitcher/Infielder | South Elgin, Ill. | South Elgin
Kiel, another signee out of South Elgin, Ill., is a lefthanded pitcher who also has talent for first base. Kiel recorded career stats of .460 BA, 91 RBI, .512 OBP, 69 1B, 34 2B, 2 3B, nine homers, 2.306 ERA and 334 strikeouts. In 2022, she earned Academic All-Conference and an All-Conference Honorable Mention and in the following season Kiel was named Academic All-Conference, All-Conference and ICA Second Team All-State. Most recently in 2024, Kiel collected Academic All-Conference, UEC Pitcher of the Year and ICA Second Team All-State.
Abbott on Kiel: "Anna is a powerhouse in the lineup, a hitting pitcher whose consistency and ability to drive in runs make her invaluable. On the mound, she maintains her composure, never showing too much emotion, yet always delivering when it counts. With unwavering consistency and a cool, composed demeanor, she shows up every day ready to work, letting her game speak louder than any emotion."
