CHICAGO –
Ali Gillooly of the Loyola University Chicago track team took first place in the indoor mile at the Cougars Invitational Friday night at the Dr. Conrad Worrill Track & Field Center at Gately Park. Additionally,
Fionn Harrington took second place in the men's mile.
Gillooly clocked a personal record time of 5:03.99 to take first place. The Stow, Mass., native beat Wisconsin's Emma Kruse, who took second, by four seconds. In third was
Aiden Grasse with a time of 5:10.42, another personal best.
On the men's side of the mile, Harrington used his time of 4:26.85 to take second. He finished on the heels of the first place finisher who clocked a time of 4:35.99, just steps ahead of Harrington.
Gabe Ryan, who finished with a time of 4:38.84, took fifth overall.
In the women's 3k,
Priscilla Ravera (10:20.13) and
Lily Mataway (10:32.72) finished in sixth and seventh, respectively. In the men's 3k,
Gabe Smit took third overall with a time of 8:17.67.
Aidan Collins (9:03.27) and
Kyle Knutson (9:14.05) logged sixth and seventh, respectively.
The Ramblers are next in action tomorrow (Dec. 7) at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener in Boston. Â
