BOSTON –
Grace Kuhn of the Loyola University Chicago women's track team clocked a program record time in the 3,000m Saturday at the Boston University Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener. The Ramblers were impressive across the board in a meet which featured some of the nation's best runners.
Kuhn's impressive personal best time of 9:20.91 in the 3k shaved approximately five seconds off Lindsey Brewis' 2019 record. Kuhn finished 46
th overall in the talent-packed event. On her heels was
Emma Watcke whose personal record time of 9:26.23 placed her third all-time in Loyola's record book. Meanwhile,
Roisin Treacy (9:36.83) earned the ninth-fastest time at LUC with her PR.
Alessandra Rodriguez broke into Loyola's top-10 all-time indoor mile times by clocking a 4:46.77 to finish 16
th overall. Her time established a new personal record - 11 seconds faster than her previous best – and landed her fourth all-time. Behind Rodriguez was Daphné Dornic who used her time of 4:58.22 to take 28
th.
Samuel Field took 14
th on the men's side of the mile with his time of 4:01.58. His time landed him fourth all-time in Loyola history for the indoor mile.
In the women's 5k,
Grace Jostock (16:57.88), who set a personal record, while
Eileen Seebon (17:03.76) also raced hard for the Maroon and Gold.
James Lawrence became the second-faster Rambler all-time in the men's 5k with his personal record of 13:49.18, 24.79 seconds faster than his previous PR.
Jake Phillips, with his time of 14:10.66, also set a new PR and landed eighth all-time.
Cael Mulholland finished behind the duo with a PR time of 14:13.16. Mulholland is now ninth all-time in Loyola men's indoor 5k records.
Nate Boutin PR'd too with his time of 14:29.72.
Loyola Chicago is next in action this Friday (Dec. 13) as the team stays local for DePaul's Blue Demon Holiday Classic.
