Adelekun, Alston Lead Loyola Chicago Past Rhode Island

Both dropped 21 points against the Rams

KINGSTON, R.I. – Dame Adelekun and Philip Alston dropped 21 points each, helping Loyola Chicago to its sixth consecutive win at Rhode Island, 77-67. Adelekun went 9-of-11 from the field, while Alston crashed the boards for his first double-double of the year, grabbing 10 boards.

The Ramblers improve to 19-7 overall and 11-2 in the Atlantic 10.

"This group is just resilient," said head coach Drew Valentine. "We kept staying at it. I think we picked up our offensive pace and execution regardless of makes and misses. Our two bigs dominated the game inside. We talk about bringing our hardhat when we have to play with that urgency and toughness. We won this game with toughness and our execution."
