Loyola Set for Mid-Week Doubleheader at Bradley

First pitch is 3 p.m. Wednesday in Peoria

CHICAGO – The Ramblers continue non-conference play with a mid-week doubleheader at Bradley Wednesday afternoon. The pair of games will start at 3 p.m. in Peoria.

• Loyola enters the week at 11-12 overall after picking up a win in a three-game series at George Washington last weekend.
• The Ramblers won the Atlantic 10 opener over the Revolutionaries, 10-0. It marked the fifth shutout by the team this season. Following the win, GW rallied to take the next two and win the series.
• In the win, Loyola exploded for 13 hits. Ava Bieneman and Haley Wallace each went 3-for-4 at the plate.
• Bieneman added three RBI and two runs scored, while Wallace scored three times and brought in two.
• In the series finale, Sydney Barnett hit her sixth home run of the season. She leads the Ramblers by four in the category. It is also the most recorded in the A-10 this year.
Peyton Pepkowski recorded the shutout win in game one. She has four of Loyola's five shutouts this year.
• Pepkowski continues to rank in the league's top-10 in ERA (6th/2.85), opponent batting average (3rd/.214), innings pitched (2nd/78.2), strikeouts (3rd/66), and wins (4th/6).
• Head coach Alicia Abbott is in her fifth year at the helm with 80 career wins at Loyola.
 
Scouting Bradley
The Braves are 11-13 overall entering the week. They opened MVC play last weekend going 2-1 vs. Indiana State. As a squad, the Braves sit third in the conference batting .275 on the year. They're second with 179 hits behind Indiana State. Bradley's pitching staff ranks third with a combined 2.81 ERA.
 
Abbott Badgley leads the Braves batting .386 through 20 games played. She has 17 hits, including five doubles and four home runs. She leads the team with 21 RBI this season. In the circle, Sydney Kennedy has made 11 starts and holds a 1.76 ERA. Over 79.1 innings of work, she has struck out 72 batters and sits at 8-4.
 
Sara Willis is in her second season at Bradley. She sits a 26-53 overall.
