CHICAGO - Dame Adelekun garnered College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors Tuesday morning. The 2023-24 Academic All-District men's basketball team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. 

In the classroom, Adelekun holds a 3.56 GPA as he pursues his master's degree in business administration. He received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth before transferring to Loyola Chicago ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Adelekun finished the season ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 9.1 points per game. He was one of the most efficient from the field this season, ranking second in in Atlantic 10 in field goal percentage (.567).

The Gastonia, North Carolina native posted 14 double-figure scoring performances, including two 20-point outings and three double-doubles. Adelekun dropped 22 points and 11 boards vs. New Orleans. He scored 21 at Rhode Island, before posting back-to-back double-doubles vs. La Salle (12p/10r) and St. Bonaventure (12p/10r).
