CHICAGO – Krishon Pinkins, a sophomore social and behavioral sciences major at Loyola University Chicago's Arrupe College, was recognized as a 2024 PNC Achiever at the March 1 Ramblers' Men's Basketball game vs. Dayton.
Pinkins joins other PNC Achievers who, since 2017, have been acknowledged for their notable efforts in academic achievement, community service or student leadership.
"PNC Achievers helps shine a light on students who are making a difference on campus in how they excel and demonstrate leadership. Celebrating their achievements in front of their family and Loyola community is an important part of that recognition," said Scott Swanson, PNC regional president for Illinois and territory executive for the Midwest region. "We congratulate Krishon on his impressive achievements and wish him all the best as he continues his path forward."
Pinkins accomplishments at Arrupe include being the Co-President of Arrupe College's Black Student Union, aiming to help support African American students in their personal and academic endeavors. He is also a member of Black Men for Success, helping cultivate academic achievement and personal excellence amongst African American males at Arrupe. Pinkins is also the president of Graphic Novel Club on campus that is a student led organization that gathers to discuss graphic novels and similar literary works.
Every academic year, a handful of students are selected by the school's staff and recognized during a Loyola Athletics event. The special ceremony provides an opportunity to highlight PNC Bank's dedicated support for Loyola University Chicago.
PNC Achievers is a program dedicated to honoring students at nearly 20 schools and universities across the country. Honorees are selected locally by designated panels at each respective school using a set of criteria which includes the three pillars of academic achievement, community service and student leadership.
